We're Engaged!!!

I just wanted everyone to know that Mark proposed yesterday, September 29th, under the Century Tree at Texas A&M. I thought we were just going to the game and tailgating, but he had other plans. First of all, he had me wake up at 6:00am to make it to College Station to tailgate and I really didn't want to get there that early. I almost stayed home. Then we were walking across campus and we came upon the Century Tree. I was like, oh let's walk under it. I had no idea that is exactly where he wanted to go. When we got under the tree I saw some rose petals and said, Oh look someone must have proposed last night. Then he said, I don't have rose petals, but I do have this and he pulled out the ring!!! I was surprised!! He then got on one knee and proposed!! And of course I said YES!!
He supposedly has been planning this for months and everyone knew, but me. It was a complete surprise. Mark your calendars for a June wedding!! WHOOP!! (The Aggies won too!!)

The Final Harry Potter Book

Saturday I waited until 10:00 am to buy the book and when I got to Barnes and Noble there were plenty to choose from. Mark and I had passed the same Barnes and Noble around 11:30 Friday night on our way back from Florida and you should have seen the lines! Once I got home I read the book and didn't stop until it was time to go to church and then I came home and read some more. By Sunday morning I was more than half way through and I couldn't wait to finish. Mark and I had to drive to Lake Livingston Sunday morning and I read the whole 2 hours and then I had to take a break to do a little jet sking and drive home. But once I got back home I finished it!! Of course I know some of you are still reading, so I won't tell you what happens. It was a very good book and one of my favorites.

USS Alabama

On our drive back to Texas, we decided to stop in Mobile, Alabama and toured the USS Alabama.

Building a castle

Mark decided to build a sandcastle. I think he did pretty well!

Trying to get out of the sun! Part 2

We tried to get out the sun for another day, but we didn't do so well. We ended up playing 2

rounds of mini golf during the hottest part of the day. How did we do there? Both of us ended up getting a hole in one on several of the holes. It was a blast!!!

Trying to get out of the sun!

To get out of the sun for awhile we decided to visit the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum. It was in the shape of the sinking Titanic. Inside we saw quit a few odd things and also rode on a 4D movie ride. It was nice being out of the sun for a couple of hours.

Bumming on the Beach

Our first full day at the beach we rented chairs and an umbrella, but then we figured we could buy an umbrella and some beach chairs and save some money. We did save some money, but we had to lug all of our stuff back and forth (it was some exercise). We also purchased some body boards to ride the waves. I did pretty well and Mark still needs some more practice. As for sunbathing and being beach bums, we decided that our fair skin is not meant to be out in the sun all day. We had a few red spots after the first day, but the beach was wonderful and we had a lot of fun!

Panama City Beach, Florida

Mark and I went to Florida for a week just to be beach bums.

Report Card

Last night I went and saw the new Harry Potter movie with two of my friends, Sherry and Alison (Mark played PlayStation). I enjoyed it, but they did change some things that were in the book. Sherry's mom came with us and she had just reread the Order of the Phoenix. She couldn't enjoy the movie because she kept realizing that parts were missing or changed. I enjoyed it and can't wait for the final book to come out!!! I actually think that I am going to reread the Half-Blood Prince before the new book comes out.

Sad News

Potter as a puupy - 1st day I got him.
I have some very sad news... just two weeks after surgery, Potter has passed away.
Potter was a great dog and we all have great memories of him. It is a very sad time and I want to thank everyone for their support. Last night my family buried Potter next to our family dog, Darby. I will miss Potter very much!!

For the past 4 weeks I have been taking 2 classes and I have been very busy. I turned in one final this afternoon and had a final presentation this evening. Now I can begin my summer vacation!!! :)

Potter's Surgery

A week ago, Potter had to have emergency surgery to remove stuffing from his stomach and intestines. Let's say it was a whole stuffed animal. At one point he had an oxygen tube up his nose. He spent a week at the vet's (if you would like to contribute to Potter's medical bills fund, please make checks out to: How much did it cost? J/K) and was able to come home last Thursday. Yesterday he had his stitches removed and is slowly gaining weight back.

The finished product...

After all of that hard work... here are the finished products. He also built the trellis in the middle.

Mark's Fruit Carts

Mark has spent the past 3 days building 2 fruit carts... okay, they are really plant stands. When we were in Minnesota we bought a lot of new plants and since we didn't have any room to plant them in the flower beds, Mark decided to build plant stands.
