A new place for Bear

Since Mark built us a new workspace, Bear has found a new place to sleep (under my side of the desk). I put a blanket down and now he is in heaven...

Our Swimming Dog

These are pictures of Bear swimming in the neighbor's pool. We have been watching their house and watering their plants while they have been on vacation. The night they were showing us everything, Bear decided to take a dip in their pool. He loves the pool and we cannot keep him out. He would swim all day if we let him. The only problem is he just doesn't swim... he drinks the water too. He comes out of the pool bloated. It usually takes about an hour to get all of the water out of him. He has also learned how to race us... and he usually wins... he is quite the swimmer.

Adventures in dogsitting...

We dog sat my sister's new dog, Hercules this week. It was quite entertaining watching the 2 dogs interact. Bear likes to steal Hercules' toys and then get him to chance him around the house, but eventually they would settle done and act like they were friends.

Here are the same pictures, but it moves a little slower so that you can see them better. More will come, as we complete more projects.

The never-ending dust pile

Picture retrieved from http://www.flickr.com/photos/the_light_show/

We closed on the house on a Thursday, we demolished the tiles on Saturday, and ever since we have had dust everywhere. We have cleaned, painted, cleaned, replaced toilets, cleaned, painted... you should be getting the point. We thought we had finally cleaned up the dust for a last time on Sunday, but then the tilers came and created more DUST.

We now have tile and should be getting laminate flooring today. By Friday, we should have all new floors and we will be moving in on Monday.

Cross your fingers and hope the DUST will finally end!!

We have a 2nd house...

Yesterday at 2:30 pm we finally closed on our new house. There is a lot of work to be done, but we already off and running with it. A new garage door is getting installed this morning. Mark and I will be spending the weekend cleaning and prepping the house for a new coat of paint. We are excited and are thankful that after a month of speed bumps (and a lot of stress) we finally have the house.

17 down and 3 to go

I am 3 books away from completing the never ending booklist for my YA literature class. I don't know what I will do with myself after I finish reading these last 3 books. Reading has consumed all of my free time since January. I will now have to find other hobbies... maybe I can start scrapbooking again, but I am getting ahead of myself - I still have 7 weeks of school left.

I hit a wall, right before Spring Break. Thank goodness, Spring Break brought me a week of rest. I now feel that I will be able to finish this crazy semester of 3 graduate classes and work. And some of you wonder why you haven't seen much of me. Hopefully in 7 weeks, I can still find all of my friends and family. :)

10 down and 10 more to go

I have reached the half way point for my Young Adult reading. At this point, I really dislike reading. I pretty much complete a book and then have to start reading the next. At least, most of the books have been pretty good. The last 2 have been the worst, but at least I am finished with them. As I have said before and will continue to say - I can't wait for this semester to be over!!!!!

7 down, 13 more to go

Five weeks into the Spring semester and I have read 7 of the 20 young adult novels I am required to read for my young adult literature class. Not only do I have to read the 20 novels, but my professor keeps adding assignments to our already full syllabus. If only that was my only class. I still have the other 2 to worry about. Thank goodness, I am enjoying and understanding cataloging. My research design class will be a killer, once I have to start my part of the project - reading 15 articles and creating a lit. review. I know that I will be able to make it through the semester, but I can not wait until May 8th. How many more weeks?
